Homes for sale in Rockridge Oakland.  Wow!  What a tour day for Homes for sale in Rockridge.  The spring market has sprung and today’s real estate brokers tour proves it.  I haven’t seen this many terrific Rockridge homes on a single days tour day in years.  Here is a summary of what I saw.

An absolutely spectacular Tuscan inspired villa with some of the best San Francisco, Golden Gate Bridge and full Bay view to be had.  All walls and ceilings are textured in a hand crafted plaster finishes.  The lower level hosts an ultimate in man cave design, pool table media area and French doors out to a level garden with a bubbling fountain.  And did I mention the views!!!!  There will be no Sunday Opens so the home is shown by appointment only.  It is a grubb listing at 5+ bedrooms, 5 bathrooms 5858 interior square feet of living space and priced at $4,800,000.

On an downslope overlooking a terraced yard and garden to sweeping views of the Golden Gate Bridge, San Francisco and who knows, perhaps on a clear day you could see all the way out to the Farallon Islands.  This home is very formal both in finishes and decorations.  The fireplace is highly ornate in a beau arts style and many of the walls have an artisan stencil style paint scheme.  Extremely well maintained and the property gets loads of natural light.  This is one of my favorite blocks on Manchester.  It is a BHG listing at 5 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms 3441 square feet of living space and priced at $2,500,000.

A Victorian inspired home nestled on an outside turn of Buena Vista that was built back after the Oakland Hills firestorm.  It is a good sized home at just over 4100 square feet of living space and priced at $1,095,000 it is a terrifically priced property for the Upper Rockridge area.  The style of the exterior doesn’t really flow to the interior but the spaces are comfortable and if you like natural wood you will love the décor.  This is a grubb listing and is a 5 bedroom, 3 bathroom home.

Looking at this home conjures up images what the neighborhood must have looked like 70 years ago.  The home is on the smaller side but the craftsman character is complemented by the totally updated chefs quality kitchen.  The home is set back nicely into a wonderfully big and level garden and grassy yard.  This part of Masonic Ave is mostly flat and boasts good outlooks in a southwesterly direction.  The price is a bit enthusiastic (in my humble opinion) but who knows, someone may well be captivated by the oversized level lot.  The property is a Coldwell banker listing and is a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom that is listed at $988,000. 

Located just a few doors down from the above mentioned Masonic lies this 3+ bedroom, 2 bathroom Traditional style home.  The flow and floor plan are terrific and while not overly big, the yards are comfortably sized and landscaped in a beautiful fashion.  Some of the systems appeared a bit dated but overall this home has it all.  As a Pacific Union listing it has 3+ bedrooms, 2 bathrooms and just under 3000 square feet of living space.  It is listed at $939,000.

This is an architecturally designed contemporary boasting 2 bedrooms and 2.5 baths.  It is modestly listed at $899,000 and it too has spectacular views of the Golden Gate, San Francisco and the greater Bay.  The catch with this home is that by my count there are 83 steps from the street level garage to the front door.  With that said, once you are up there the place sparkles with style, light and views.  It is a BHG listing available for showings by appointment.

Rounding out the tour and being the best value is this 2 bedroom 1 bathroom 1459 square foot bungalow.  One of the things that is special about this home is that it has a high ceiling height basement with a half bath.  It is just ripe for an expansion.  The upstairs style, quality and condition are very livable in it’s current state and for those of you looking to keep a low tax base by buying a smaller home, you can still have room to grow in the future.  It is a grubb listing and is priced at $624,000.
